Kakuro Kakuro
How to play Kakuro
Kakuro is similar to both sudoku and traditional crossword games.
Like a Crossword
Similar to crosswords, Kakuro has clues both across and down. When you put numbers in the vacant squares, the sum must equal the given clues. This is why the game is sometimes called 'cross sums'.
Like a Sudoku
Just like a sudoku, you cannot have the same number in a row or column. If a row is broken into 2 areas by a clue, then you can have the same number occuring once in each of the separate areas.

Choose a number, and place it in the grid above.
  1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9
Talk about anything and everything, but nice to each other - you don't have to agree, but this is not the place for personal attacks. As Sir Paul McCartney said: 'I used to think anyone doing anything weird was weird. Now I know that it is the people that call others weird that are weird' (longer explanation). Enjoy!

Wasn't actually bad, I liked this since it was a bit different than usual. Here's a SPOILER:

There are five easy cells. Look at the row with 30: it must contain a 9. Then look at the last two cells of the same 30 row: they sum to 9. We now know that the row cannot contain 6. That makes two 9's in good places and 'sudoku-attack' does the rest.

Started like Yoman, but made use of the fact that not both L=4 and M=5 (in third row) could be true (otherwise 30A could not be satisfied). But this implies that K=7 and from there everything falls out.

It was easy once I got the candidates right. Most of my errors are forgetting a candidate and then not considering all the possibilities. This time I forgot to put a 4 where 30A and 39D intersect. When you do that the cell to the right becomes a 5 and you're doomed.

Not too bad after considering where the possibilities for 7 in 24D.

coming back in 2015: tried and screwed up a couple of times, then came back and found a way to do it from scratch in 2:20
free kakuro puzzles | online kakuro puzzles
For the record, here is the 2:20 solution:

1) Fill in D,I,N,O,Z
2) From P,Q get U+V=9, so R+S+T=21
3) R/S/T can't be 6/7/8 because V is 7 or 8. Therefore there's a 9 in R/S/T
4) From 2),4) no 6 in R, so no 9 in W, so 9 in X or Y
5) From 3),4), no 9 in B,C, G or H, so 9 in More...
