Kakuro Kakuro
How to play Kakuro
Kakuro is similar to both sudoku and traditional crossword games.
Like a Crossword
Similar to crosswords, Kakuro has clues both across and down. When you put numbers in the vacant squares, the sum must equal the given clues. This is why the game is sometimes called 'cross sums'.
Like a Sudoku
Just like a sudoku, you cannot have the same number in a row or column. If a row is broken into 2 areas by a clue, then you can have the same number occuring once in each of the separate areas.

Talk about anything and everything, but nice to each other - you don't have to agree, but this is not the place for personal attacks. As Sir Paul McCartney said: 'I used to think anyone doing anything weird was weird. Now I know that it is the people that call others weird that are weird' (longer explanation). Enjoy!

21A != xx65xx (because bottom half of puzzle is then unresolvable).
Therefore 21A = xx54xx and solves

Aspie: But the bottom half can be resolved as 10A=82, 8A=71, 21A=146532, 10A=2143, so to say that the bottom half is unresolvable with 21A=xx65xx seems like maybe not exactly what you want to say. Or am I missing something?

21A=xx65xx would violate uniqueness because the rest of 21A could be solved 2 ways. And once you see this, it is NADA.

Nada - tip from Aspie re 21A solves it easily

Willo, well yes it could be written as 21A = 146532, but also by 236541, and there would be no way to say which solution was correct. I guess that’s a form of the unique rule, but it’s also viewable as an unallowable disconnect between the top and bottom of the puzzle (if 65 is in, then the top doesn’t influence the bottom, which negates that the orphans have to add up). I think (!)
