Kakuro Kakuro
How to play Kakuro
Kakuro is similar to both sudoku and traditional crossword games.
Like a Crossword
Similar to crosswords, Kakuro has clues both across and down. When you put numbers in the vacant squares, the sum must equal the given clues. This is why the game is sometimes called 'cross sums'.
Like a Sudoku
Just like a sudoku, you cannot have the same number in a row or column. If a row is broken into 2 areas by a clue, then you can have the same number occuring once in each of the separate areas.

Choose a number, and place it in the grid above.

Talk about anything and everything, but nice to each other - you don't have to agree, but this is not the place for personal attacks. As Sir Paul McCartney said: 'I used to think anyone doing anything weird was weird. Now I know that it is the people that call others weird that are weird' (longer explanation). Enjoy!
Placement of 22D

Fairly simple nada, 6s helped and 22D.

Agree with KSP that 22D is the key. I placed the 4s in 34A and 16A, solved the top then placed possibilities in the bottom to discover P then O to eliminate some of the previously filled possibilities leaving fill work.

nada. path turned out to be similar to Plum's

Unlike others, I didn't see 22D as key. P follows from crossed 9's in 16D and 17D. After placing 4's and filling in the top (like Plum), note that Y, 22D, 16D and 17D
account for two 8's and two 7's in the bottom rows, so {Q,V} contains no 7, so only one way to fill in Q and V. Then only one place for the 6 in 35A, and 22D takes care of itself.

nada:
1. Solve 4s in 34A and 16A, then solve the top.
2. 9x in RSWX (solves 14A).
3. VZ is 56 pair (solves 6s in 34A/35A then rest of puzzle).

Reasonably simple nada

Willo - Thanks. I saw the crossed 9s but missed that 22 requires a 9 thus P=9. That's a pretty basic oversight even for me.

nada because T=4 then the top three rows all solve themselves. D=6.
34A, 35A have a 6x, therefore 22D=679 combination. Because 8x, Y=8 and so on.
