Kakuro Kakuro
How to play Kakuro
Kakuro is similar to both sudoku and traditional crossword games.
Like a Crossword
Similar to crosswords, Kakuro has clues both across and down. When you put numbers in the vacant squares, the sum must equal the given clues. This is why the game is sometimes called 'cross sums'.
Like a Sudoku
Just like a sudoku, you cannot have the same number in a row or column. If a row is broken into 2 areas by a clue, then you can have the same number occuring once in each of the separate areas.

Talk about anything and everything, but nice to each other - you don't have to agree, but this is not the place for personal attacks. As Sir Paul McCartney said: 'I used to think anyone doing anything weird was weird. Now I know that it is the people that call others weird that are weird' (longer explanation). Enjoy!

This took me over 14 minutes (much of it spent stubbornly refusing to use possibilities). I don't see the nada. What did I miss?

I have a problem with this puzzle. QR are 78 or 87. Solution proposed to be correct is 78. Problem is XZ are 34 or 43. Puzzle is also solved by entering 87 in QR. It seems to me that the so-called solution is not unique.

Paul: I think you mean PR, not QR. In any event, the flip you suggest makes 18D illegitimate (two 4's).

willo I did mean PR, and you are correct. Don't know why I missed the double 4s. I guess that means I'm nada because I got to the only solution first.

because 16D does not have opposing pair 19, 28 (16D=592 or 781).
So, any cyclic chain we set up with 19, 28 opposing pairs is going to break if it includes 16D.
C=3 takes the 8 out of A and creates the cyclic chain.
C!=3, still a bit of work to do ....
for example if R!=8 then More...
