Kakuro Kakuro
How to play Kakuro
Kakuro is similar to both sudoku and traditional crossword games.
Like a Crossword
Similar to crosswords, Kakuro has clues both across and down. When you put numbers in the vacant squares, the sum must equal the given clues. This is why the game is sometimes called 'cross sums'.
Like a Sudoku
Just like a sudoku, you cannot have the same number in a row or column. If a row is broken into 2 areas by a clue, then you can have the same number occuring once in each of the separate areas.

Choose a number, and place it in the grid above.

Talk about anything and everything, but nice to each other - you don't have to agree, but this is not the place for personal attacks. As Sir Paul McCartney said: 'I used to think anyone doing anything weird was weird. Now I know that it is the people that call others weird that are weird' (longer explanation). Enjoy!

orphans only; no possibilities. took 16:57 though.

Orphans only (took me over 16 minutes to see this, but it's very easy in hindsight):

1) Fill in 6D.

2) Orphans easily settle M,N.

3) Y at least 5 (else can't make 29D) so X at most 4, so F and T are 8 and 9 in some order and B=1.

4) Fill in G (from considering More...

I was feeling lazy today so used all the tools. In retrospect it was pretty easy and orphans should have been enough although possibilities made it obvious and orphans wouldn't have been needed.

nada, but with an intuitive heuristic.
27D=123489
29D must (from combo list) have one of 89 and a 4, which solves a chunk of the lower half, 11D, 10A etc.
10D=136.

here's the intuitive leap, else I am stuck .... if 9D=513 it looks like a large circuitous ring is set up, breaking unique rule, so, 9D=612 and solves.

feel free to disagree.

-o-p but not claiming nada because it took a few tries. Could see that of the 12 numbers making up 27D and 27D only 5 can be > 4, and 29D has to have a number > 4, and its Y. So 27D = 984321. Then I saw that E & F are both 98, so G is < 8. Then, when you see that S = 7, that tells you where the 4/s go in 27D & 29D. Then easy.
