Kakuro Kakuro
How to play Kakuro
Kakuro is similar to both sudoku and traditional crossword games.
Like a Crossword
Similar to crosswords, Kakuro has clues both across and down. When you put numbers in the vacant squares, the sum must equal the given clues. This is why the game is sometimes called 'cross sums'.
Like a Sudoku
Just like a sudoku, you cannot have the same number in a row or column. If a row is broken into 2 areas by a clue, then you can have the same number occuring once in each of the separate areas.
Other variations

Choose a number, and place it in the grid above.
  1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9
Talk about anything and everything, but nice to each other - you don't have to agree, but this is not the place for personal attacks. As Sir Paul McCartney said: 'I used to think anyone doing anything weird was weird. Now I know that it is the people that call others weird that are weird' (longer explanation). Enjoy!

Close to nada. In mid-puzzle, I calc'd the oprphan total, (not actual answers),and that allowed me to continue solving. 7:39

I used +p but I was lazy. I think it will be a nada for the non-lazy.

Nada. Maybe a little luck involved ??

I had a smiley face where question marks appeared. What's up with that.

It seemed a fairly simple nada to me. Easy to solve 15A and 10A. Then the 6 in 39D has to be in M or U, and a quick mental chain shows that isn't in M, then the rest is easy.

Paul, agree with Dan but: In R must be 5 or 7, if you choose the 5, you will need another 5 in J, that is the Key

Dan: Why no 6 in D?

Easy with possibilities and orphans.

@willo - uniqueness - the remaining 3 cells in 28D and 31D are each 987, so the 6 has to be in M or U for uniqueness.

nada. Long time (10:20).

Dan: Thanks. I don't allow myself to use uniqueness, so this doesn't work for me --- but I appreciate the response.
